Build is SIGRA's construction and fabrication service. We take on assignments from early engineering to a fully installed solution — in steel, aluminum, thermoplastic and composite, depending on what the job requires.

Build is about constructing and fabricating what the customer needs — from simple pipe systems to complete vessel hulls and process plants. We come in early, choose the right material and deliver a fully installed solution.
Three companies make up the Build capability: Odda Plast (thermoplastic and composite piping and electrical), Herde Kompositt (GRP/CRP vessel hulls and industrial structures) and KB Stålindustri (steel, welding and pipefitting). Coordinated as a single supplier.
What we deliver under Build
Pre-engineering and material selection
We come in early. Material selection, sizing and technical advice before the project is locked in — so you get the right solution from the start, not an expensive course correction along the way.
Pipe fabrication — Odda Plast prefabricates PE pipes
Thermoplastic (PE, PP, PVC, PVDF, ECTFE) and composite (GRP/GRE) pipes manufactured and installed by our own qualified tradespeople. Odda Plast prefabricates PE pipes — shorter lead times and better quality control than third-party purchasing.
Newbuild vessel hulls — GRP/GRV/CRP
Complete vessel hulls in GRP, GRV and CRP. Vacuum infusion and hand lamination in our own production halls with deep-water quay. GRP delivers 30–40% weight reduction versus aluminium.
Advanced composite and industrial structures
GRP and CRP structures for process industry, offshore and aquaculture. GRP tanks, process water tanks and special components.
Steel and mechanical fabrication
Certified welding, steel structures and industrial pipefitting. EN 1090-EXC2 and ISO 3834-2. Carbon steel, stainless and aluminium. Orbital GTAW welding.
Technical insulation and cladding
Process pipes, tanks and valves. Energy efficiency and heat protection. Schwartmanns Fisk Cutter for metal cladding. Marine and offshore insulation solutions.
Electrical and automation
Electrical installations and automation solutions integrated with pipe systems and process equipment. Certified electrician. Complete delivery from a single company.
Vessel optimisation
Composite upgrades that reduce weight and increase electric range on existing vessels. GRP is 30–40% lighter than aluminium — a direct gain in battery range.
Prefabricated pipe spools with internal lining
KB Stålindustri fabricates the pipe spools. Pipeliner lines them internally. Complete delivery ready for direct installation — relevant for EPC and modification projects with tight schedules.
Aquaculture infrastructure — GRP tanks and pipe systems
GRP tanks, smolt tanks and process water tanks from Herde Kompositt. Reference: Egget — closed aquaculture facility for Ovum.

Pre-engineering
Material selection, sizing and technical advice. We recommend the right solution before the project is locked in.
Fabrication
Prefabrication of PE pipe, GRP/GRE components, steel structures — in parallel where possible.
Installation
Our own tradespeople on site. Pipefitters, plastic technicians, welders and electricians as needed.
Documentation
ITP/QCP and a complete documentation package tailored to the customer's requirements and classification society formats.
